Toddler

The children in this age group are between 20 months and three years. They are separated in groups, primarily by developmental age.
Toddlers need a safe environment; this is the age of “Me” and “I can do it by myself.” The basic skills are learned with great effort and lots of patience from educators. Skills such as mobility, feeding themselves, fine motor coordination, sharing and toilet training, are to be achieved at this stage.

Teachers prepare a curriculum to provide opportunities to develop these skills and educational needs. At this age the struggle for achievement can be very frustrating to children if not dealt with in an appropriate manner. Close supervision and interaction are provided for this age group.

Toddlers have a set schedule that they follow each day, a structured environment that provides a consistent routine with a variety of activities each day.
